Kshitij '11 at IIT Kharagpur 28th Jan to the 31st Jan 2011

The annual techno management festival of IIT Kharagpur, Kshitij, aims at pushing the current levels of technical knowhow to limits of excellence by bringing together the best of the nation in all fields in this fest.

With over 40 events classified in 7 different genres, it definitely proves itself as an ideal place to be. And with thousands of participants gathering at a common place the exchange of information and knowledge through interaction is catalysed to skyrocketing extents. Kshitij 2010 was one more feather on the hat of this legacy. With personalities like the Nobel Laureate Sir Anthony James Leggett, the world renowned storm chaser George Kourounis, Oscar winning film maker Shekhar Kapur, the invisible man Chris Phillips and Vice President of IBM Indian software lab P Gopalakrishnan coming down themselves to share their views one on one with the youth of the nation, nothing could have been better. The exhibitions by DRDO on life size models of India's current missile technologies, the solar car and the fog screen kept the audiences enthralled. The sand animation and the magic show by Nigel Mead sent jaws dropping. However, the mainstay of Kshitij is its string of events in the fields of technology and management. With about 30 technical events and 15 managerial ones packed up in a span of 4 days, students go berserk in trying to participate in all of their favourite events.

Kshitij 2009, IIT KHARAGPUR, 29th Jan to 1st Feb, 2009

As the sun sets on the weary highlands, the shadows lengthen and the Horizon merges into nothingness. Night glides into day like it never existed. The world is lulled into a depressing sense of being in the doldrums. And then walks in the first ray that illuminates the Horizon- Kshitij. Indeed, as the fateful day dawns at Kharagpur, the youth is filled with a much needed sense of dynamic enthusiasm. Kshitij 2009 promises to see a lot of the wealth of experience sprinkled with the vivacity and exuberance of the youth.

Kshitij 2009 has already embarked on it’s voyage. A workshop on ‘Computer Security and Ethical Hacking’ by esteemed alumni of IIT Kharagpur and Fellowship rewards for the brightest brains. As is now the norm so far as Kshitij is concerned, the workshop was, needless to say, a grand success.

Beware, for Kshitij 2009 comes at you with a barrage of new events, guest lectures, workshops and megashows. Be it in the political or social arena, be it tech-savvy or management, Kshitij 2009 has it all, and a lot more...

Techfest 2009 at IIT BOMBAY.

Techfest 2009--Asia's Largest Science and Technology Festival

"Men love to wonder, and that is the seed of science."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The role of science in the history of humanity would always be unparalleled, unrivaled and indispensable. Any effort to put to words, its importance in our lives is a futile task, without exception. So let's not dig into the definitions of science and technology and just celebrate its glory and grandeur. If the Ancient Greeks organized Olympics as a celebration of human body, IIT Bombay organizes Techfest as a celebration of human mind and its scientific genius. If "2001: A Space Odyssey" was Clarke's tribute to science, Techfest is ours.

Techfest, the Annual International Science and Technology Festival of IIT Bombay, is proud to bring to you its twelfth edition. From nerve-racking Competitions to Lectures by noted luminaries, from incredible Workshops to fun-filled Ozone, Techfest 2009 will have everything to conquer your imagination. And just when you thought it couldn't get any bigger, it also happens to be the Golden Jubilee year of our illustrious institution.

Techfest 2008 carried the message of "Save our Planet" and ended on a hopeful note with thousands of students joining us in the endeavor. We thank all the individuals and organizations involved in making it a grand success. Techfest 2009, scheduled from 24th to 26th January, promises to carry the legacy handed over to it through eleven years and bring you a bigger and a better Techfest.
