SOME TIPS FOR INTERVIEWS

some of the interview tips may be help ful

1. Dont cross your arms or legs You have probably already heard you
shouldnt cross your arms as it might make you seem defensive or
guarded. This goes for your legs too. Keep your arms and legs open.

2. Have eye contact, but dont stare If there are several people you
are talking to, give them all some eye contact to create a better
connection and see if they are listening. Keeping too much eye-contact
might creep people out. Giving no eye-contact might make you seem
insecure. If you are not used to keeping eye-contact it might feel a
little hard or scary in the beginning but keep working on it and youll
get used to it.

3. Dont be afraid to take up some space " Taking up space by for
example sitting or standing with your legs apart a bit signals
self-confidence and that you are comfortable in your own skin.

4. Relax your shoulders " When you feel tense its easily winds up as
tension in your shoulders. They might move up and forward a bit. Try
to relax. Try to loosen up by shaking the shoulders a bit and move
them back slightly.

5. Nod when they are talking nod once in a while to signal that you
are listening. But dont overdo it and peck like Woody Woodpecker.

6. Dont slouch, sit up straight but in a relaxed way, not in a too tense manner.

7. Lean, but not too much " If you want to show that you are
interested in what someone is saying, lean toward the person talking.
If you want to show that youre confident in yourself and relaxed lean
back a bit. But dont lean in too much or you might seem needy and
desperate for some approval. Or lean back too much or you might seem
arrogant and distant.

8. Smile and laugh â lighten up, dont take yourself too seriously.
Relax a bit, smile and laugh when someone says something funny. People
will be a lot more inclined to listen to you if you seem to be a
positive person. But dont be the first to laugh at your own jokes, it
makes you seem nervous and needy. Smile when you are introduced to
someone but dont keep a smile plastered on your face, you'll seem
insincere.

9. Dont touch your face it might make you seem nervous and can be
distracting for the listeners or the people in the conversation.

10. Keep you head up. Dont keep your eyes on the ground, it might make
you seem insecure and a bit lost. Keep your head up straight and your
eyes towards the horizon.

11. Slow down a bit this goes for many things. Walking slower not only
makes you seem more calm and confident, it will also make you feel
less stressed. If someone addresses you, dont snap youre neck in their
direction, turn it a bit more slowly instead.

12. Dont fidget try to avoid, phase out or transform fidgety movement
and nervous ticks such as shaking your leg or tapping your fingers
against the table rapidly. You'll seem nervous and fidgeting can be a
distracting when you try to get something across. Declutter your
movements if you are all over the place. Try to relax, slow down and
focus your movements.

13. Use your hands more confidently instead of fidgeting with your
hands and scratching your face use them to communicate what you are
trying to say. Use your hands to describe something or to add weight
to a point you are trying to make. But dont use them to much or it
might become distracting. And dont let your hands flail around, use
them with some control.

14. Lower your drink dont hold your drink in front of your chest. In
fact, dont hold anything in front of your heart as it will make you
seem guarded and distant. Lower it and hold it beside your leg
instead.

15. Realise where you spine ends many people might sit or stand with a
straight back in a good posture. However, they might
think that the spine ends where the neck begins and therefore crane
the neck forward in a Montgomery Burns-pose. Your spine ends in the
back of your head. Keep you whole spine straight and aligned for
better posture.

16. Dont stand too close one of the things we learned from Seinfeld is
that everybody gets weirded out by a close-talker. Let people have
their personal space, donât invade it.

17. Mirror - Often when you get along with a person, when the two of
you get a good connection, you will start to mirror each other
unconsciously. That means that you mirror the other persons body
language a bit. To make the connection better you can try a bit of
proactive mirroring. If he leans forward, you might lean forward. If
she holds her hands on her thighs, you might do the same. But dont
react instantly and don't mirror every change in body language. Then
weirdness will ensue.

18. Keep a good attitude " last but not least, keep a positive, open
and relaxed attitude. How you feel will come through in your body
language and can make a major difference.

PREPARATION BEFORE THE EXAMS HAD STARTED

PREPARATION BEFORE THE EXAMS HAD STARTED:

Before the exams had started the steps that are to be followed to study well are as follows
1.First see what are the units that u can be able to study (atleast 5) by seeing the
syllabus book.
2.After confirming the UNITS to be studied 1st study the UNITS you have never
studied (i.e if u think that u can get that concept when u study once during the
exams then leave it and continue with the new concepts).
3.Don't leave any concept in that respective UNIT even if it is not mentioned in the
syllabus book but mentioned in the TEXT BOOK .He may give that concept in the
exams as this is engineering but not intermediate.
4.Before the exams had started see that u should be able to known the concepts in
that respective units selected by you(atleast 5).
NOTE: Be sure to study atleast 5 UNITS .

HOW TO STUDY DURING THE EXAMS

HOW TO STUDY DURING THE EXAMS (i.e Exams have already started):
If you have studied well during the preparation its well and good and revise well what you have studied. If not don’t worry about that atleast try to study well during this time by following the below steps
1. First of all consider the UNITS that were easy for you and study them first and fill confidence in u by completing that UNITS so that u can write the Questions from that UNIT.
2. NEXT you consider the previous Question papers and complete the remaining units by studying the important Questions in that units.
3.If u r studying the Important Questions the u need to study as many UNITS u can bcoz if a Question has come that u have not
studied as that is not important in that particular UNIT than u may attempt another
Question from another UNIT.
3.If u are unable to do the above step also don’t worry about that. Just study
atleast the side headings in a particular concept.

TIPS for remembering the side headings (Helpful during presenting in your paper)
1. First see all the side headings liberally in a particular concept.
2. Now consider the starting letter(S) of each side heading nad try to make a
WORD which you could remember well and easily.
Eg: steps involved in Knowledge Discovery in Data Mining are
1.DM-Data Mining
2.DI-Data Integration.
3.DT-data Transformation
4 .DC-data Cleaning
5. DS- data Selection
Now considering the starting letters from each step 1 can see that Data is common
for all so consider ‘D’ first and next ‘M’ , ‘I’ , ‘T’ ,’C’,’S’ in the sequence.
Now the word one can remember is: “DIM TCS”
3. If the above case is not possible then practice well that is by writing that
side headings till u remember them.
NOTE: ONE TIME WRITING IS EQUAL TO TEN TIMES REDAING.
4.If the exam is tomorrow then try to complete studying that night itself and go to bed early i.e around 10 or 10:30.
5. And the next morning try to wake up early
in the morning i.e around 4 or 4:30 and revise the concepts that u have already studied.
NOTE: TRY TO PRATICE WELL THAN STUDYING. AND BE COOL AND CONFIDENT ABOUT THE EXAM.
If you prepare by following the above steps the one could be in a position to write the exam well.

HOW TO WRITE THE EXAM (PRESENTATION)

HOW TO WRITE THE EXAM (PRESENTATION):
One thing that every one should keep in mind that whatever you have studied that should be presented well on the paper. If not its of no use even if you studied very well. So presentation skills are also very important.
Some TIPS for Presentation:
1. First after receiving the Question paper see the Questions which know perfectly and tick them
2. If you don’t know perfectly then see for the Qns which u know better and give rankings from perfect to least perfect.
3. Now write the Answers according to that rankings given by u.
4. While writing the Answers try to write neatly and clearly and draw the diagrams neatly if present.
5. Underline the side headings neatly with out overlapping the side headings and the lines.
6. After completion of Answer draw a double line separating each answer.
7. Try to write your answer points wire rather than paragraphs.
8. If u don’t know anything regarding any question then gather all the points in that UNIT and write those in points wise rather than paragraph.
If u present the paper by following the above steps one could score well.

NOTE: ALL THE ABOVE STEPS ARE BEING SAID BY ME WITH EXPERIENCE PLEASE TRY TO FOLLOW THEM AND ACHIEVE THE SUCCESS .
NOTE: ALL THE ABOVE STEPS ARE FOR SCORING ONLY BUT NOT FOR KNOWLEDGE GAINING. If u want to get knowledge then study well from the beginning only not at the exam time (i.e opening book)

World's greatest Brand names.Where does they come from?

Adobe - came from name of the river Adobe Creek that ran behind the house of founder John Warnock.

Apache - It got its name because its founders got started by applying patchesto code written for NCSA's httpd daemon. The result was 'A PAtCHy'server -- thus, the name Apache

Apple Computers - favorite fruit of founder Steve Jobs. He was three months late in filing a name for the business, and he threatened to call his company AppleComputers if the other colleagues didn't suggest a better name by 5 o'clock.

CISCO - its not an acronym but the short for San Francisco.

Google -the name started as a jokey boast about the amount of information the search-engine would be able to search. It was originally named 'Googol',a word for the number represented by 1 followed by 100 zeros. After founders,Stanford grad students Sergey Brin and Larry Page presented their project to an angel investor, they received a cheque made out to 'Google'

Hotmail - Founder Jack Smith got the idea of accessing e-mail via the web from a computer anywhere in the world. When Sabeer Bhatia came up with the business plan for the mail service, he tried all kinds of names ending in 'mail' and finally settled for hotmail as it included the letters "html" - the programming language used to write web pages. It was initially referred to as HoTMaiL with selective upper casing.

HP - Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard tossed a coin to decide whether the company they founded would be called Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett.

Intel - Bob Noyce and Gordon Moore wanted to name their new company 'Moore Noyce' but that was already trademarked by a hotel chain, so they had to settle for an acronym of INTegrated ELectronics.

Lotus (Notes) - Mitch Kapor got the name for his company from 'The LotusPosition' or 'Padmasana'. Kapor used to be a teacher of TranscendentalMeditation (by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi).

Microsoft - coined by Bill Gates to represent the company that was devoted to MICROcomputer SOFTware. Originally christened Micro-Soft, the '-' was removed later on.

Motorola - Founder Paul Galvin came up with this name when his company started manufacturing radios for cars. The popular radio company at the time was called Victrola.

ORACLE - Larry Ellison and Bob Oats were working on a consulting project for the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency). The code name for the project was called Oracle (acronym for: One Real Asshole Called Larry Ellison)

Red Hat - Company founder Marc Ewing was given the Cornell lacrosse teamcap (with red and white stripes) while at college by his grandfather. He lost it and had to search for it desperately. The manual of the beta version of Red Hat Linux had an appeal to readers to return his Red Hat if found by anyone !

SAP - "Systems, Applications, Products in Data Processing", formed by 4 ex-IBM employees who used to work in the 'Systems/Applications/Projects"

SUN - founded by 4 Stanford University buddies, SUN is the acronym for Stanford University Network.

Xerox - The inventor, Chestor Carlson, named his product trying to say 'dry' (as it was dry copying, markedly different from the then prevailing wet copying). The Greek root 'xer' means dry.

Yahoo! - the word was invented by Jonathan Swift and used in his book 'Gulliver'sTravels'. It represents a person who is repulsive in appearance and action and is barely human. Yahoo! founders Jerry Yang and David Filo selected the name because they considered themselves yahoos.
