The role of science in the history of humanity would always be unparalleled, unrivaled and indispensable. Any effort to put to words, its importance in our lives is a futile task, without exception. So let's not dig into the definitions of science and technology and just celebrate its glory and grandeur. If the Ancient Greeks organized Olympics as a celebration of human body, IIT Bombay organizes Techfest as a celebration of human mind and its scientific genius. If "2001: A Space Odyssey" was Clarke's tribute to science, Techfest is ours.

Techfest, the Annual International Science and Technology Festival of IIT Bombay, is proud to bring to you its twelfth edition. From nerve-racking Competitions to Lectures by noted luminaries, from incredible Workshops to fun-filled Ozone, Techfest 2009 will have everything to conquer your imagination. And just when you thought it couldn't get any bigger, it also happens to be the Golden Jubilee year of our illustrious institution.

Techfest 2008 carried the message of "Save our Planet" and ended on a hopeful note with thousands of students joining us in the endeavor. We thank all the individuals and organizations involved in making it a grand success. Techfest 2009, scheduled from 24th to 26th January, promises to carry the legacy handed over to it through eleven years and bring you a bigger and a better Techfest.
