Google's unvieled it's new project Knol-short for 'units of knowledge'.Knol appears to be an amalgam wikipedia page & blog post.
A Knol is a web page that will have a publishing system to allow people to create and edit content on topics of their interest,seemingly akin to a focused blog spot.
It will allow users to add reviews,ratings & comments as well as suggest edits in the page-quite like wikipedia allows.
Google is promoting Knol as a source of individual & competing view points spread out across the web.
