IIT Bombay is one of the premier institutions of science and technology in India. It is known for the high quality of knowledge imparted to its students and its cutting edge research. Techfest was founded in the year 1998 with dual aims of providing the budding engineers and scientists of the country a platform for sharing and spreading ideas of science and technology. Techfest, a brainchild of eminent Professors and an actuated group of students of the institute, is an organization managed completely by the students of IIT Bombay, working on a non-profit basis. This dictum of the founders is fostered and followed by the word even today.

Kshitij '11 at IIT Kharagpur 28th Jan to the 31st Jan 2011

The annual techno management festival of IIT Kharagpur, Kshitij, aims at pushing the current levels of technical knowhow to limits of excellence by bringing together the best of the nation in all fields in this fest.

With over 40 events classified in 7 different genres, it definitely proves itself as an ideal place to be. And with thousands of participants gathering at a common place the exchange of information and knowledge through interaction is catalysed to skyrocketing extents. Kshitij 2010 was one more feather on the hat of this legacy. With personalities like the Nobel Laureate Sir Anthony James Leggett, the world renowned storm chaser George Kourounis, Oscar winning film maker Shekhar Kapur, the invisible man Chris Phillips and Vice President of IBM Indian software lab P Gopalakrishnan coming down themselves to share their views one on one with the youth of the nation, nothing could have been better. The exhibitions by DRDO on life size models of India's current missile technologies, the solar car and the fog screen kept the audiences enthralled. The sand animation and the magic show by Nigel Mead sent jaws dropping. However, the mainstay of Kshitij is its string of events in the fields of technology and management. With about 30 technical events and 15 managerial ones packed up in a span of 4 days, students go berserk in trying to participate in all of their favourite events.

USA 2011-Imagine Cup ™ by Microsoft ®

The Imagine Cup Theme

It's a theme of global proportions.

Imagine Cup 2011 Theme: Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems.

It might sound lofty. And perhaps a little ambitious. But when it comes down to it, this year's theme couldn't be more relevant. The United Nations has identified some of the world's toughest problems in its Millennium Development Goals. And Imagine Cup 2011 uses these ambitious challenges as a guide, inspiring students to create change around the globe.

The United Nations Millennium Development Goals include:

1) Ending Hunger and Poverty.

2) Achieving Primary Education for everyone.

3) Promoting gender Equality and empowerment.

and many more..,

The Millennium Development Goals were agreed upon by 189 nations around the world more than nine years ago. They encompass universally accepted human rights such as freedom from hunger, the right to basic education, the right to health, and a responsibility to future generations. Now less than four years from the date of 2015 by which the Millennium Development Goals are to be achieved, it's time we made a difference.

On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of NIT Jamshedpur, no stone shall be left unturned, no energy shall be left unharnessed, to make this technical fest a grand success. In our quest to unleash this flurry of energy and to explore higher ground, let us carry with us the spirit of OJASS'10
